Steven Johnson, a science writer for Wired Magazine, wrote, “Imagine explaining Wikipedia to someone who has not heard of the word processor” (Harris, 2010, p. 14). To some, it is even harder to imagine a person who has never heard of the word processor. We currently live in a world that has become reliant upon modern technology. Wireless phones, DVD players and desktop computers were once recognized as top of the line, must-have technology. Almost instantly, the once advanced technology was thrown away to make room for new Blu-Ray players, tablet computers and touch screen smart phones. These advances in technology opened realms to the expanse of social media.
